What its About: Still reeling from her last brush with the shadow, Kira has to also deal with the death of her handler and mentor, Bernie.  When she goes back to London to gather his belongings, she’s honestly surprised when she finds herself back in the middle of yet another chase.

This chase though, only serves to create more questions for her. Questions that unless she figures out the right answers, might just be her undoing.

What I Thought: Started out slow, and I wasn’t sure I was going to finish it. However, I was really surprised when towards the 5th chapter or so I just couldn’t put it down. The story brought me to tears a couple of times. Watching Kira get torn apart by these … questions that just never seemed to have answers, really broke my heart.

Kira is a strong female who is unapologetic for who/what she is, and I honestly really like that about her. The whole cast of characters is the same way, very vivid and full of not only flaws but things that make them seem real.

Do I Recommend: Sure, if paranormal anything is your thing. If it’s not then I’m pretty sure you won’t like it. Also I recommend reading the first book in the series, Shadow Blade, before reading this one, otherwise some things just won’t make sense.
